Founded in 2000, the Federate Associations of National Cleaning Contractors (AFELIN) is the sole Spanish representative of the Small and Medium Size Building and Premises Cleaning Enterprises and Contractors, promoting their interests vis-à-vis both nationally and internationally. It also defends employers´ views in the Social Dialogue for Cleaning Industry at all levels.

Its members are thirthy Federated Associations from spanish autonomous regions and provinces. It nearly gathers a thousand companies and approximately 140.000 workers. In addition, the AFELIN established a Circle, opened to other active organisations related to the Cleaning Industry in Spain.

Its fundamental missions are the following:

• To encourage professionalism in the Cleaning Industry.
• To promote the recognition of the industry and improve its public image;
• To insure continuous monitoring of the activities of Spanish and European Union institutions that may affect cleaning contractors´ and make sure that the interests of the industry are taken into account by policy makers.

STRUCTURE

Its governing body (General Assembly) meets twice a year and is responsible for all issues affecting the Association. All members are invited to participate in the meetings.

Its executive body (Board of Directors) meets at least four times a year.

Works are developed by five policy Committees (Training, Promotions, Economic Affairs, Social Affairs & Social Dialogue and Scientific & Academic Observatory), composed of experts designated by members associations and coordinated by a Secretariat.
